Book Launch Event of "Life in the Mid Atlantic"
by the late Professor Peter Boyle
A successful book launch was held on 1st December at the University of Aberdeen, Kings College. The event was hosted by the University of Aberdeen, Professor Monty Priede (Oceanlab) and Dr. Nicola Cousins.
Welcome and introduction to the book was given by Prof. Monty Priede, member of the MAR-ECO Steering group and project leader of the ECOMAR project. The MAR-ECO project was also represented by Jo Høyer (Bergen Museum, University of Bergen) and Tone Falkenhaug (Institute of Marine Research), who expressed special gratitudes to the family of Peter Boyle for their contributions and support to this book.
A photographic slideshow was presented by the renowned marine photographer David Shale. Many of his fascinating images of deepwater organisms are included in the book.The launch was well attended, and people used the opportunity to take a closer look at the book and meet some of the MAR-ECO project participants.
